Here’s an analogy. Good behaviors are apples, and bad behaviors are oranges. You want your dog to give you apples, so you ask for apples. But your dog keeps giving you oranges instead!

So you found an apple trainer. To help your dog learn to give apples, our trainer starts by giving apples to your dog, and then your dog learns how to give apples back. That’s why we call it Apples4Apples!

However, even though your dog has learned that our trainer expects apples, they still wonder if you prefer oranges. To show them that you also want apples, when you return home, you will need to start giving apples. Then your dog will understand that apples are the new rule everywhere—no more oranges needed!

So let’s teach you how to give apples! There are three types of cards in this deck. Here’s how to use them:

Start by reading four cards (and QR links) that teach about the MyPack perspective. This new point of view helps everything else in Apples4Apples make more sense.

Next, study the 15 apple activity cards (and QR links) that teach you how to give apples. Each builds on the last, and reinforces training received at MyPack.

Finally, this last set of cards describes the three main levels of dog training, and outlines additional levels of training that are available for you and your dog.
